In mid-April 2025, Limestone District School Board (LDSB) experienced a cyber incident that required us to take down all internet-based services as a precautionary measure. In May, we notified community members that the perpetrators of the cyber incident stole personal information about members of the LDSB community, following which we continued to analyze stolen information to identify the full extent of the exposure. Unfortunately, we can now confirm that the stolen information included the information of International Education’s past and current students and families and some homestay families. We understand this news may be concerning, and we are deeply sorry that this has occurred.
We are yet to learn of any misuse of the exposed information and believe the risk of publication and misuse to be low.
More information is available on Limestone District School Board’s Cyber Incident webpage, including answers to frequently asked questions, updates on the cyber incident, and guidance on steps you can take to protect your information online. We encourage all individuals to review the information provided.
